It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the passing of John Moir who passed away peacefully at home on the 12th August.

 

John was a long standing committee member of the South West Centre and more recent a member of the Forth and Clyde Centre.

 

Our thoughts are with Aileen,Fiona,Ailie and family at this sad time I would ask if you could give the family time to grieve

 

John's funeral service will be held at the Hurlet Crematorium Glasgow Road G53 7TH on Tuesday 26th August at 10 am. The family would like you to join them afterwards at the Dalmeny Park Hotel Lochlibo Road Barrhead G78 1LG.

It is with great sadness that I have to report the passing of George Lallaway. George passed away peacefully in hospital on 27th of June. Our thoughts are with Patricia and family at this sad time.
 
George’s funeral service will be held in The Sacred Heart Church, 25, Kyle Road, Cumbernauld G67 2DY on Frid 11th July at 10am and then to Cadder Cemetery, Bishopriggs. The family warmly invite you to join them afterwards for refreshments in the Westerwood Hotel.

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Diana Valentine on Monday 12th of May. Diana was a long time member of East Centre where she served on committee for many years, more recently she had been a member of Forth & Clyde Centre. Our thoughts are with Neil, Norman & Odette at this sad time.

 

Diana’s funeral will be held on Tuesday 3rd June @ 2pm in Livingston Old Parish Church & then follow on to The Inn - next door. Please use The Inn car park for Church.

 

Diana’s commital is to be private. Anyone wishing to watch service should call up Livingston Old Parish Church and follow the link to the service.

It is with great regret I have to Inform you of the passing of Norman Douglas on 27/01/25.

Norman was a long time member of East Centre where he joined committee in 1981 he held the position of Chairman 1989& 1990. Norman joined Scottish Division in 1991 & served as Chairman 1994 & 1995 & then President of The Scottish Caravan Club 1997 & 1998.   Latterly he was a member of Forth & Clyde Centre.

Norman’s funeral will be held on Tuesday 18th of February, 1:30pm at Cloister Chapel, Warriston Crematorium, EH7 4HW.

 

 

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death, on the 11th January 2025, of former North Centre member Doug Clare.  Doug was on committee for quite a few years and also served as Equipment Officer and Rally Secretary.

 

Funeral details Tues 4th Feb 2025 @ 10.30 Aberdeen Crematorium, East Chapel.

It is with deep regret I have to tell you of the passing of Neil Gow On 3rd January. Neil was Past Chairman of Fife & Tay Centre.

Neil’s funeral will be held on Monday 20th January, 11am @ Tannadice Church, 7 Kirkside Cottage Manse Lane, Forfar, DD8 3T.

It is with deep regret that I have to inform you of the passing of Sandie Cherrie on the 4th of January.
Sandie and Dave were long standing East Centre members and Sandie served on committee as PRO in 1993 and 1994.
 
Sandie will be remembered for driving the car and caravan through the goalposts at an East Centre rally at Linburn, the cross bar removed the skylight and aerial, that was the first and last time that Sandie towed the van.
 
Dave and Sandie moved from Livingston to Peterhead and then to Fort William but still remained East Centre members.
Sandie’s funeral will be a private cremation and her ashes will be scattered on the top of Ben Nevis by the Lochabar mountain rescue who Dave and Sandie supported for many years.
 
Our thoughts are with Dave and the family.

It is with great sadness I report the passing of Ian MacLean early this morning 21/12/24.

 

Ian was a past Chairman of Highland Centre and Past Chairman and President of The Scottish Caravan Club. Funeral details to follow in due course.

BRUCE FENTON - Hon. President Scottish Division
 
It is with great sadness that we are passing on the news of the sudden passing on Friday 29th November of Bruce Fenton. Bruce was a Past Chairman of North Centre and past Chairman & President of The Scottish Caravan Club and current Honorary President of Scottish Division.
 
 
Funeral arrangements:
Thursday 12th December, 1:15pm, West Chapel , Aberdeen Crematorium, Hazelhead. Followed by tea at Mains of Scotstown

It is with deep sadness that we are sharing the unexpected passing of Jane on Sunday 3rd November at Forth Valley Hospital. She fought bravely against cancer and following complications after surgery, she has left us too soon.

Jane’s strength, kindness and unwavering spirit touched the heart of everyone who knew her.  She will be dearly missed by all who know her.
Rest in peace Jane , will love you always and forever❤️
 
Jane was a long time club member and served as Secretary of East Centre for many years.

We regret to announce the sad passing of long standing Fife and Tayside member Donny Cooke. He passed away peacefully on the 18th June 2024 at Victoria Hospice, Kirkcaldy surrounded by his family. The funeral will be at Kirkcaldy Crematorium, Wednesday 17th July, 2:15pm.

Maggie was a long time member of the Highland Centre, serving on the committee and for many years our Treasurer.
Our thoughts and condolences are with her husband Ian and daughter Sharon.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jim Elliot on Friday 22nd March, 2024. Jim was a past Chairman of Dumfries & Galloway Centre in 1998/99 and past Vice president of SCC in 2001.

 

Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.

 

Funeral on Thursday 11th April at 1pm in Minto Church near Denholm followed by interment in Minto Cemetery @ 1.30pm

IIt is with sadness I must tell of the death of Mr Ian White former West Centre Chairman. Ian and his late wife Eleanor supported the West Centre on and off the Rally Field for many years.

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Rodney Lambert, Honorary Life Member of the Club, passed away on Wednesday 4th October 2023. Rodney had been a member of the Club for over 50 years and was involved with the Buckinghamshire Centre Committee, the Home Counties Region (formerly known as Northern Home Counties), as well as the Club's Grants, Events and Executive Committee. 
 
He became a member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Events Committee in 2007, where many of you may have encountered him at many Club National Rallies.  He was then elected Club Vice-Chairman in 2010. In 2019, Rodney retired from the Executive Committee and was made an Honorary Life Member of the Club. 
 

Iain Devine – Forth & Clyde Centre

It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Iain Devine on 18th July 2022.

Beloved husband of S.C.C. Past President, Margaret Devine. Devoted Dad to Darren with Rhona and Barry with Dawn, also a doting Grandad to Chloe, Ciaren, Lewis, Ross and Cammy. Iain passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, after a long, bravely fought battle!

Iain's funeral was held on Tuesday 2nd August 2022.

Member, Dave Robinson on Saturday 23 rd September, 2023 after a long period
of ill health. Dave was a member of Durham Centre. Our thoughts are with
June and the family at this very difficult time. At Dave’s request, his funeral will

Ronnie Duff – President – The Scottish Caravan Club

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the passing of SCC President Ronnie Duff.

After a short illness Ronnie passed away peacefully on Friday evening 28th October 2022 at Crosshill Hospital, Ayr.

Ronnie was immediate Past Chairman of Scottish Caravan Club and has held various Committee Positions within South West Scotland Centre and was Centre Chairman of the Centre from 1994 to 1996 and 2016 to 2018

Ronnie’s Funeral was held on Tuesday 15th November 2022.

Our thoughts are with Patricia and family.

Ramsey McAuley - former South West Scotland Centre

It is with great sadness I have announce the death of Ramsey McAuley on Tuesday 22nd February 2022.

Ramsey joined the South West Scotland Centre in 1975 and was past SCC PRO. past Centre Chairman along with various other positions over the years within the Centre.

Ramsey was also a Overseas Site Inspector for Caravan Club.

Ramseys funeral was held on Tuesday 8th March 2022.

Our thoughts are with Ramsey's daughters Ann & Jacquline.

Carol Hendry - Fife & Tayside Centre

It is with great sadness I have announce the death of Carol Hendry on Wednesday 9th February 2022.

Carol was wife of Nick Hendry who was a past Rally Secretary of Fife & Tayside Centre.

Carol’s funeral was held on Tuesday 15th March 2022. 

No flowers but you may give a donation which will go to Sick Kids Hospital.

Our thoughts are will Nick and Family.

Nick Hendry and family would like to say a big thank you to all who attended Carols funeral it was much appreciated. The donations to the Sick Kids Hospital raised a fantastic £515.00. We are overwhelmed by the generosity. It has been sent away and hopefully put to good use.​
