The Scottish Traditional Boat Festival is held over this weekend and Rally field is within walking distance. This is the 32nd anniversary of the event. A flotilla of heritage boats from across the country, will drop anchor in the historic harbour of Portsoy for a weekend of celebrations. Upholding the north east’s maritime heritage, there will be a packed programme of entertainment including music and dance, the finest Scottish food and drink, and demonstrations of age-old crafts, unique handmade items and gifts.

To enjoy the Tall Ships in Aberdeen by using public transport, take bus or car to Stonehaven, then regular train service to Aberdeen City Centre.
Or,to watch tall ships at sea from the coast, drive to nearby Inverbervie, Gourdon, St Cyrus etc.
Sunday 20th July – Stonehaven Highland Games 1pm at Mackie Academy playing fields.
The rally is also handy to enjoy nearby Castleton Fruit Farm and Shop with its wonderful café.
Fettercairn Distillery is local as well as the Caledonian Heritage Railway which travels from Brechin to Bridge of Dun, (caledonianrailway.com for advance bookings),
