More prisoners arrive, along with more Top Brass from East Grinstead and with guided tours of the camp for our members to enjoy although some escaped to visit the village and were welcomed by the friendly people of Comrie

Again at 21:00 hr Role Call was taken, then Soup kindly donated by Baxters of Speyside was served and gave members another chance to meet. But time outside was limited, as the early Air Raid Siren was sounded as the dreaded midges began to attack

Saturday 20th June 2015

It was time to set up for the official opening and at 10:30 hr Brigadier Stuart welcomed everyone to the Platinum Rally and the Rally was officially opened by Blair Urquhart from Comrie Development Trust. The Celebration Cake which was kindly baked and donated by Madame Robertson, was cut by Past and Present SCC Presidents attending (Kenny Robertson, Margaret Devine, Fiona Murray, Ian Maclean and Ian Bennett) followed by a few words by Caravan Club Chairman, Grenville Chamberlain. Members were then treated to a reception where tea, coffee, wine or beer was served, along with hot savouries from the local baker, Campbell's, which were delicious

Further tours of the camp were conducted and soon it was time to attend a drinks reception laid on before members were bused to the social held at the White Church in Comrie.  A two -course meal with wine was prepared and served  by the Madames of the Sub Committee followed by dancing to live music by Corrie Oliver who kept the dance floor full all evening. During her breaks a Disco was played by Craig.

Meanwhile whilst back at the camp, a Family Social for members was held with food & drink provided and thanks to Gordon Leitchman for making it such a memorable evening for all

Sunday 21st June 2015

The Breakfast Team from Novak & Good a subsidiary of La ‘Vatorie Catering was up early in the morning to cook porridge (donated by Hamlyns) lorne sausage, black pudding, bacon, tattie scones, eggs (scrambled or boiled) and beans (all food being donated by Entier) there was a good turn out for the breakfast which was enjoyed by all - thank you all to the Breakfast Team

A Church Service was held in Hut 41 and was taken by Madame Stuart. A collection of £246.00 was raised which was made up to £300.00 and donated to Cultybraggan Heritage Trust. That was followed by tea, coffee and shortbread (donated by Walkers) along with Centre Sales

In the afternoon it was time for the Tea Dance themed in the 40’s, with most members attending, dressed to the theme. During the break a Gin Tasting was provided with the Gin being supplied by The Shetland Reel Gin company.

It was discovered that a couple of dodgy salesman were at the Tea Dance, Bill Farquharson and John Gass were trying to sell nylons etc to the ladies. Gass was later caught and arrested by the local Bobby (Tommy Gilmour) again a good time was had by all who attended

News came filtering through, that someone had escaped and was seen crossing the border, it was later found out that it was the Director General Nick Lomas. He was last seen around Lunch time with red bleary eyes as he had been rubbing away the tears of sadness about having to leave his first every Rally
