78th Annual General Meeting 2023
The Scottish caravan club AGM 2023 was held at a new venue this year, the Green Hotel Kinross, where 61
members attended, The honorary members from The Caravan and Motorhome Club attending were, Chair Grenville Chamberlain OBE, Emma McQuillan, and David Turner Vice chairman, all were
invited to the top Table.
Out going Chairman Bruce Fenton welcomed all to the AGM meeting and proceeded with to introduce the top table after which he began the
meeting. After going through the agenda, reports were read and adopted it came to a part on rebranding of the SCC logo and wording to adopt the words Motorhome into the standard heading with
the CAMC logo into it, this caused a few comments. Grenville Chamberlain, National Chair, gave insight as to why CMAC was interested in the rebranding as
there are more motorhomes than caravans being produced and sold now. He felt that Scotland was missing out by calling themselves The Scottish Caravan Club to gain more members we must
move with the times. This was to be taken back to a council meeting for further discussion.
the meeting continued with the presentation of the chain of office to the new Chairperson Jean Gilmour and then she gave her new office bears their badges
and window plaques.
Other presentations were for The Robison Friendship Award , which for 2023 was awarded to Jean Gilmour for the hard work she had undertaken in the past
year.
The photographic Alba Shield was won by Vicechair of Dumfries and Galloway Centre, Fiona McDonald.
The meeting closed with the view of returning to the Green Hotel in 2024.
